What happens to my group insurance plan if I change companies?

 

Taken on a new job elsewhere? Then you may be wondering what happens to the savings you’ve accrued in your group insurance plan. Like a lot of people, you may be operating under the false assumption that you automatically forfeit your entitlements.

​Let's start with the most important message: even if you've taken on a new job elsewhere, you still get to keep your group insurance savings (= accrued reserves). Only in rare cases will you forfeit these entitlements. For more information about exceptions, check your pension plan regulations or contact your HR department for assistance.
